SkinPen is the first microneedling device cleared by the FDA to treat fine lines and wrinkles & acne scars while also being incredibly effective in the treatment of hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and surgical scars to the face, neck, and décolleté. Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is also used to improve skin texture and elasticity as it involves creating microinjury to the skin, boosting the body's natural collagen and elastin production. SkinPen rejuvenation treatments are minimally invasive and safe for all skin tones and skin types. While microneedling creates micro-injury to the skin, numbing cream is applied prior to treatment for optimal comfort. Most clients rate their pain at a level of 0-1 out of 10 during their procedure.

After the procedure, your skin will be pink to red and may remain so for 24-48 hours, feeling similar to a sunburn. Microneedling with SkinPen is safe for clients 22+ with any skin texture, skin tone, or skin type- even dry and sensitive skin. Microneedling is effective in younger clients targeting acne scars and hyperpigmentation as well as a treatment for middle-aged and mature clients looking to improve skin elasticity and texture. Microneedling is an anti-aging procedure as it boosts collagen and elastin production. Clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications such as Acutane are not candidates for this procedure.

Expert consensus states that at least 4-6 microneedling sessions are required for maximum, long-lasting results. Treatment plans vary for each client as they are influenced by age, skin type, concerns, and areas of treatment. Preventative treatments may be performed just twice a year, while targeting deep lines, severe hyperpigmentation, and large scars may require the full 4-6 treatments. Alternative collagen-inducing treatments, such as chemical peels, may be utilized within a treatment plan & can be discussed with your provider.

• You should avoid active ingredients such as Retinol, AHA/BHAs, and Vitamin C for 5-7 days prior to treatment. You should receive a chemical peel no sooner than two weeks prior to procedure.
• Avoid plucking, waxing, and other hair removal treatments to the affected area for at least 7 days prior to procedure.
• You should also avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least 48 hours prior to treatment as this may compromise the integrity of your skin.
• It is preferred that you arrive without makeup, but if that is not possible we will happily cleanse your skin for you!

After care is vital to ensure your skin heals well & to maximize treatment results.

Post-procedure skincare should consist of:

• A gentle cleanser and deeply hydrating product(s) should be applied at least twice per day. You will be provided 2 FDA approved SkinFuse post-procedure products designed to protect the altered skin barrier & enhance healing. Travel-sized AN Skin Intensive Nourishing Creams available for use 24 hours after procedure while supplies last. Your provider can recommend ideal products for healing.
• You should avoid applying makeup for at least 12-24 hours.
• Avoid direct/prolonged sun exposure for 4-5 days and any active ingredients such as Retinol, AHA/BHA, and Vitamin C for 7 days to allow skin time to heal.

Full healing occurs at approximately 2-4 weeks and repeated sessions may be performed as soon as 4-6 weeks apart.
